"This is an excellent property in a beautiful setting. As well as the pool, the house is surrounded by a wonderful garden with orchard, vines, and shaded spots. The very welcoming owner lives next door and went out of his way to make our stay comfortable and interesting - he gave us his own wine, vegetables from the garden and arranged for the local baker to deliver every day. There was no-one staying in the second property by the water but don't think it would have changed our opinion. "My goodness, what an amazing property! Although distant from most major hotspots, it is smack in the middle of nature, and far away from the traffic and noise of civilization. This unique property includes an old large wine making room with equipment, the entry to the breakfast and dinner rooms. Charming and outstanding."

"Great property exactly as described, and the setting and views were just the best! The local town 20 mins drive on the river is Amarante and it stole our hearts. The drive straight down the mountain to a slightly closer town Celorico de Basto is not for the faint hearted, and was not repeated. The TV was in French which was a bonus as we don't speak Portugese. The host was very accommodating of our very late arrival at 11pm due to flight issues and responded to all messages immediately.A great...

"The house exceeded all expectations, especially the outside space, pool and gardens. The views are superb and we enjoyed the variety of places we could sit to view the surrounding countryside and sky. Very well equipped kitchen and BBQ which was above average for a holiday let. Our host was extremely helpful and her recommendations for local food and activities was fantastic. Did not want to leave after a week. "
