"Situated on large grounds the property is undergoing much needed renovation. The personal is very nice and they are doing their best to communicate and help. There are no surroundings. Need a taxi to anywhere. The pool needs to be cleaned. The breakfast was acceptable, dinner somehow limited in options. We found it a bit overpriced for the conditions "

"We enjoyed our time at Sol Cataratas and wish we had stayed longer. The jungle setting provided atmosphere and we found the restaurant on site provided good meals and enjoyed our interaction with the serving staff (despite our lack of Spanish). The hotel was a base for us and we were picked up and dropped off on the tours we did though a walk into town isn't excessive and neither were taxi's if required. "The a/c was leaking onto this light fixture, the room was nice loved the balcony looking into the lush vegetation. The restaurant was fantastic, breakfast was another story, you couldn’t serve yourself (buffet style) the cereal etc side you could but not the fruits cheese or ham side. The only eggs served are scrambled. The hostess the first day was not very friendly but day 2 and 3 this younger much friendlier hostess took great care of us!! "
