"An unbelievable hotel in a declining area of downtown. San Diego like most California ities is on the decline. I grew up here and remember the days of Horton Plaza and the Gaslamp Quarter and its really declined unfortunately. The hotel is fabulous though. "

Close to all the great North San Diego beach towns...although you will be tempted to enjoy the property and never leave! We will be back in May with the whole family. "Was an updated room but there was no heat source available in the bathroom. Very cold and uncomfortable. Asked for a space heater, said they would get one. Never came, then they said they didn’t have one after all. Also, please get better fake logs for fireplace. The logs were just made of recycled paper and were cheap for such a high end hotel. "

"This was a very nice place, felt comfortable, clean and great staff. Things that could have made this place perfect. The room was quite a trek we were put in the last room which felt like a mile hike from the lounge and front desk. I liked the privacy tho and the view out of the balcony. In the morning I would have like more than one caffeinated coffee pods, as we had mostly decaf coffee in room for the morning. We called reception and they delivered promptly.
