5.0 star property
9.6 out of 10, Exceptional, (141)
"I have visited this property four times since 2012. The hotel is beautifully nestled in the forest and lit up with pin lights, the rooms are lovely and spacious and come with a deep plunge bath. It is convenient to walk to the slopes, on the main shuttle service and one can walk to surrounding restaurants, bars and ski rentals. But what stands this hotel apart is the impeccable service from the amazing staff. During ski season they lay out your warm ski/boarding boots at the door, and they...

Escape to Meiken Onsen! Enjoy its natural setting.

Took a bit of a hiatus recently to go to #japan and it was everything I dreamed and more. Thought this shot was an appropriate #takeahike entry as it was not something I expected to see in the middle of Japanese summer! Leaving in the morning from Toyama in 27+ degree (Celsius) heat to do the Tateyama Kurobe Summer Alpine Route, I thought the rest of the day would be spent in a T-shirt. What a beautiful surprise! Snow and volcanic scenery. And we even drove past some snow monkeys šŸ’™. Falling hard and fast for Japan and its trekking routes, and finally making my Trover wishlist dreams a reality! (Tip: many more trekking routes are open in summer that wouldn't usually be accessible).
