It's in the middle of the historic Petite France district, and I was lucky to secure a room with a balcony that looked out on one of the Strasbourg's historic canals lined with beautiful houses. "Although the River was in flood this didn't stop our wonderful evening at the Hotel. The room was delightful. The restaurant out of this world - well it should be with 2 Michelin stars - and the staff we perfect. Except for one who was very grumpy when we arrived early for dinner by 20 minutes! But hey ho the other staff were all dlieghtful and efficient. A special place."

"We had planned to stay four nights but left after two because of lousy service and bad location. We had paid more than $1,000 in advance to stay at this place and thought it would not be too much to ask to have coffee brought up to the room in the morning (since there was no coffee maker). One of the very young women who seemed to be running the place said she would bring it at 7 a.m. but never did. My husband went down to ask about it at 7:30 but the young woman said she was "busy."
