"Good sized room with clean bedding & towels. Bed was a little soft for our liking, not quite firm enough( personal preference -not a complaint). New World supermarket nearby if wanting to cook in kitchenette. Eating at Monteith’s brewery is a must (5 min drive). Nice town with wide streets & good overnight stay. Have to go to Pancake Rocks as well (45 min drive north)"

"The Hokitika Fire Station is a lovely place to stay. Very comfortable, spacious, clean, complete with all the amenities we needed and wanted. We'd happily stay there again and regret only staying for one night. It is in a good location with parking just behind the building. The beach is a short walk away as is the main street with various dining, drinking and shopping options. We think it is great that a historical building has been preserved in such a way with a strong tie to it's history and...

"This is a really first class operation. Only 4 rooms, each the same. Owner, Sue Ellen, did everything to make our stay special. She is friendly and full of suggestions and resources. She couldn’t have been more helpful. We enjoyed the cocktail hour out on the patio and a most delicious Full breakfast with lots of choices. Would definitely come again and highly recommend. "
