"It is easy to understand why the Hotel Maria Cristina is an iconic hotel. We arrived to a very kind and very professional greeting. The valet service is very strong. The lobby is truly spectacular. The rooms are amazing. The areas throughout the hotel are incredible. The team is first rate and were very helpful throughout our stay. The hotel is perfectly situated and is in close proximity to every key area. We fell in love with San Sebastian and so we look forward to returning to the Hotel Maria...

"This is a majestic old (but updated) hotel with excellent service. They gave us a tour of the facility and explained all the available services. The whirlpool, sauna, and steam room were all included in the price of the room. They even upgraded our room to ocean view! What incredible service at an incredible hotel. "

"Our stay here was an experience. Unlike any other "hotel". Located spectacularly in the foothills of the pyrenees, accommodation consisted of little chalets scattered around a large area. Guests travel between the various facilities in golf carts. The restaurant was spectacular (view & food) but expensive. Breakfast was very good, also beautifully located"

"Overall the facilities are great on paper, however the management give a very clear impression and direction that the facilities are not to be used. It felt like being in school with some very strict and judgmental head teachers who monitored our every move. Having paid 310 euros per night, I expect to be able to feel at home and use the facilities that are advertised. I will not book again and could not in all good consciousness recommend this facility to anyone."

"Alberto (employee) changed the package I was promised by one of the hotel employees (that quit her job by the time we arrived) and instead of having a prepared package like promised by her, he just said no it’s not possible that she gave you this. So I cancelled my last 2 days for the unpleasant treatment. I expected more from a 5 star. "
