"A good size room, with large bath & shower, large comfortable bed, room on 1st floor - no noise, very good breakfast - great selection/options, all staff very helpful, very well equipped gym to accommodate all levels/needs. Good location for transport/train to airport. The restaurant meals however...very small portions (pasta dish) +50% for an average size portion. "

"Lovely hotel! Large, spacious, beautiful rooms. Our balcony was right on the open square. It was amazing! The bar was awesome and the American bar tender was very nice and helpful. All the staff were wonderful! The very central location was awesome and made the days easy. Such a short walk to the river, churches, the market, everything! Great hotel!"

"Everything was wonderful except that it did mot feel like there was much recognition of VIP status. No bottles of wine were offered or room upgrade. We had to argue for the room we orginally paid for and also we were downgraded for the end of our stay. It felt like we paid a lot of money ($450/nt) to not be treated like anything special. $450 is a lot of momey in Portugal. or anywhere..it was disappointing. I think the staff is very nice but they seemed stressed. The management forces them to...

"So many things to love about the GA Palace Hotel. The room and bed was really comfortable with a large bathroom (double sinks), great restaurant, day spa and pool. We were only there for two nights, however, choose to eat meals all meals at the hotel restaurant or use room service, apart from the lunch we had in the Douro Valley. "
