"Hotel was clean and well equipped. We particularly enjoyed the outdoor pool and sauna/steam room facilities. Check in and out was straightforward. Grounds were lovely. We didnā€™t have dinner at the hotel but it is well situated and easy walking distance to the centre. Breakfast was disappointing as took over half an hour to come, was not very big (mushroom was only half a slice!) and toast had gone cold as was served when we sat down so had to ask some more. Staff were attentive and professional....

"On arrival we were pleasantly surprised to be told that we had been upgraded to a Suite. We were then shown around the hotel (nice touch). The suite was big and amazing. The breakfast was first class, all served by smiling, friendly staff. We also used the Spa and would recommend it. The hotel is an easy 8 min drive into Bath central. Lovely gardens at the hotel to walk around. Plenty of free parking in the grounds as well. We would definitely stay again šŸ‘"

"This was an overnight stay while working locally and this place was chosen for its location and the fact that itā€™s a pub as well. The room was nice but could do with some TLC but I was very comfortable. Only issue was the Bathroom light was on a sensor which meant it went out when you were in the bath shower or on the toilet. Very good breakfast and evening meals although a bit limited in the number of meal choices. This meant we only ate on one evening as we did not fancy the other things on the menu"

The Flodden Tree This tree was planted to commemorate Thomas de Berkeley's actions in successfully commanding a large troop on men at the battle of Flodden in 1513. He was rewarded with the honour of knighthood on the field of battle for his services from the Earl of Surrey, who commanded the English army. The ground around the tree has built up over the centuries and relatively recently it was showing signs of suffocation of the roots, hence the depression now excavated around the base to alleviate the problem.
