"Beautiful setting on the water, with so many comfortable spaces to enjoy…a true getaway by pools, fire pits, or sandy beach. The nearby USS Yorktown aircraft carrier and the USS Laffey Destroyer ship were fascinating. And the friendly free shuttle service to Charleston for site seeing and restaurants took just 14 minutes. We’ll be back next year!"

"The Francis Marion was a lovely place to stay. The lobby and common areas were elegant and stately. Our room was nice and the beds were very comfortable. I appreciated that we got housekeeping every day and beds were made and towels replaced. We were walking distance from everywhere we wanted to go!"

"The hotel was even better than pictured. The beautifully preserved history with new modern finishes was the perfect Charleston feel for this family trip. We are already looking forward to our next trip. Staff was so polite and helpful. Our waitress in the restaurant Maddy mad sure we had the most perfect first night of our trip. We ran into the hotel from a fast moving thunderstorm and were swiftly placed at one of her tables. She was wonderful to my children and took immediate genuine interest in their excitement for our trip. When discussing our plans and asking for her favorite local places she went above and beyond. At the end of dinner she brought an order ticket to us with a list of places to take the kids, have brunch, best sweet treats and coffee, sights to see and places to shop. It took so much stress off of me searching and googling to give my family options. We went right to Maddy’s list daily to pick our plans. The chef at the restaurant also must have the highest standards and hospitality! A bit of our meal was delayed, honestly not even an issue because we were enjoying our time, but he sent out the tuna tartare on him and did not bill us for our salad that was a bit behind our meals. Every bit of food we ate was perfection and we ended our first night feeling as if we picked the most perfect place to spend the week."
