"We have been staying at Hotel Grano de Oro for more than twenty years. We always stay there whenever we are in San Jose. The service has slipped a bit in the last few years, but it’s still a lovely hotel."

"Everything about this hotel is great except the rooms have no blackout curtains. In the night is the street lights that are bright and morning at 5:30 am the sun rises. Makes it hard to have a good sleep Otherwise the hotel is excellent. "

"We didn’t get to the hotel until 2:00am and whoever was at the desk was so helpful. There isn’t an elevator so they helped us with bags while we carried our sleeping kids. The hotel was quiet and beautiful- the breakfast delicious- service was beyond- would absolutely recommend for nice retreat! "

"This is the second time that I have stayed at Xandari. This resort is absolutely incredible. From the staff to the grounds to the amenities. It will always now be a stop I make either on my way in or out of San Jose. The food is amazing. The staff is so kind and helpful. The whole place is just absolutely stunning. And let’s talk about that view. I didn’t have a chance this time to do the waterfall trail that I did last time and they are amazing as well. Don’t even consider it- just book it!!! "

"This property is so so beautiful. You’re completely surrounded by lush plants and trees and just submerged in nature. The rooms are so cute, comfortable and have an open nature feel. I stayed in the mango, luxury room which is perfect for a couple or solo traveler. They have breakfast and dinner available on site to order. During the day you obviously have to go off site to hydrate and eat. Housekeeping was nice to keep your room nice and tidy. The staff was nice and patient if you do not speak...

"Gorgeous property, jacuzzi by the pool was broken but there was a private one. Food was amazing grounds were incredible. A bit cooler than arenal. Close to airport in the hills outside of San Jose. Luxury experience. "
