We initially didn’t get the room we booked but after telling the staff they moved us the next day (we arrived in middle of the night) and offered a voucher for the restaurant. "DO NOT STAY HERE. We were hoping for a resort-style place to unwind for a day before we travelled to Sapa. We arrived at 6am hoping for an early check-in. We paid NZD90 for a night and were charged USD80 (NZD120) to check in early. Breakfast was sparse and tastes awful - this place had the worst selection we have encountered so far. The place feels eerie, like you're in a horror movie. Everything smells like cigarette smoke. The only other guests we saw were what looked like Chinese high rollers...
