"This was our second time staying at the Highlands - first time was 20 years ago. Always wonderful ocean views. While they are maintaining the cliffside property the rooms are showing some wear. Paint and attention to detail inside the rooms would go a long way. Dinner at Pacific’s Edge was delightful. "This is a wonderful property. I choose it for the proximity to the beach and walking distance to the Monterey Bay Aquarium. Check in was simple and we were delighted with the room and the dining room as well as the lovely sitting room across from our room (Art Deco). Breakfast was delicious and the dining room overlooked the Bay. Every breakfast was different and delicious, and the coffee was good and strong. The staff was friendly also."
