"Lovely old hotel in a beautiful town. Our room was a good size - very clean. Breakfast was oustanding. On our last night there was a "false" fire alarm (better than a real fire). Next morning there was no hot water. Manager said it would be hot in 20 minutes. An hour later still no hot water and no apology. Disappointing way to end our stay "

"Beautiful period pub in a very nice setting. Clean, well cared for with a lot of period/nice touches to decor. Lovely large room with a shower and a separate bath. Very good made to order breakfast. Staff - pleasant, helpful and engaged. The only negative was no food after 8pm - which is when we arrived - and no other options in the locale. So arrive early if you want to eat there."

"This is a beautiful inn inside and out with great inside and outside dining facilities as well. If you only think to visit Hay-On-Wye dyring the book festival you are missing out on all the other wonderful attributes of the region.
