Only reason why it scored low on facilities was because of the planned refurbishment of the pool area, which we knew about after booking but didn’t put us off. "A bit disappointing. Room was too hot - someone had set the aircon to 28°! Also, I had checked online and it said that they had Sky Sports in the rooms. They don't. They wouldn't even put it on in the bar for me to watch the football 😭 Also, one usually gets tea, coffee and some biscuits in a hotel room. There was tea and coffee, but it was hidden away in the cupboard, so presumably was free. The only refreshments out in the open were the £1.50 bottles of water. I expect better for £120ish per...

"Lovely hotel in very convenient and beautiful riverside setting. A few minutes walk through Cathedral Close (gates open until 11pm) to picturesque City Centre. Comfortable beds, plentiful good quality breakfast buffet with attentive staff. The only downside is the decor is very tired, including several broken boarded up windows in public spaces that await replacement"

"This hotel has recently been refurbished and looks very nice, clean and tidy. Out room was pleasant and the bed was very comfortable. The only disappointment for us was breakfast was not served in the dining room (which I was looking forward to on Christmas morning) but in a stark function room with no windows or pleasant Christmas atmosphere. When we expressed our disappointment a very nice lady did accommodate us in the restaurant."
