"Man at check in could have been friendlier. Only complaints are: 1. Fan covering in bathroom was filthy. 2. Window near bed should have a drape over it to prevent sunlight getting in. The blind is not sufficient. Otherwise very good. "

"This is an amazing place! The rooms are even like a castle. Our teenage boys loved it. Lots to do and discover and learn. Included breakfast which was great. Staying in the castle made us feel like we were living in the age. Music playing and gifts shops of the era plus the josting and sword fighting was wonderful. If you go to Melbourne make sure to take the quick trip to Leigh creek to go to Kryal Castle and better still stay the night in the castle."

"An overall comfortable and enjoyable stay. Room was small but well appointed and very clean. Bed and pillows great, slept well. This is a functioning hotel with live music and functions; there are noise reducing glass doors to separate the hotel rooms but you’ll still be aware of some noise. Check in was quick and easy. Very close to Ballarat railway station and restaurant strips. "

"This property far exceeded our expectations. Historic property with plenty to do onsite. Paddle boats on the lake, electric bikes, playground, indoor heated pool, games, vege garden/ fruit trees to help yourself. The apartment we had slept 4 with good kitchen facilities and living space. Huge bedrooms! Little booklet with a short history of the property was a nice touch. The only thing id change would be an update to the mattress which was far to soft and for the soft furnishings to be...

"I made the booking for my parents who are quite elderly. David could not have been more helpful in ensuring they felt comfortable, welcome and had all they needed. You dont find this level of service at the big chains. The location is outstanding, especially for the nearby hospitals. Overall could not recommend more highly. "
