"Quaint boutique hotel within walking distance to center city…. Right near gates, bell tower and waterfront. A very short walk to Antonio Borges botanical gardens (you must eat lunch at their restaurant- THE BEST). A little longer walk to Arruda Pineapple Plantation which was our favorite plantation. "Pros: Friendly staff and great service. Property is within easy walking distance of restaurants, stores, and the marina. Convenient, inexpensive parking garage. Cons: Our rooms were warm (the A/C is limited - the case in many European hotels). We left the slider open at night and the area is very noisy well into the morning."

"Although this was more than walking distance from city of Ponta Delgada it still was close enough to drive, bus, etc. There were shopping and dining options in and near the hotel. Staff at front desk and bar were great, and we enjoyed it here for our last day before our flight, and drove to city after check out before we flew home in the afternoon."

To south, it takes 10 minutes to walk to waterfront/downtime. To north, walk less 10 minutes for gas station and a large shopping complex in which you may find food court, grocery store, etc. During peak season, probably convenient to walk around instead driving and trying to find a parking spot.
