"Very nice "

"This is a very convenient location on the island for the following reasons. When staying at other hotels in the tourist areas such as furnas/ sete cidades you have to drive up steep roads daily to traverse in/out of your hotels city. That can take hours of your day away and depending on time of day (night hours) or weather can be unsafe having to commute such steep terrain. This hotel is located conveniently in the middle of the island, away from the main city so you can enjoy nature (15 min drive to Ponta Delgada). Staff was excellent, they provide you with a cellphone for your room which they communicate with for reservations/ attraction ideas to visit, any questions you might have. Beach is conveniently right there, myself and every guest i saw enter during my 1 week stay there all said “wow” when you walk in and take in the views at reception. I miss my stay there already. "

"Moinho da Areia was an amazing place to stay on vacation. It was located on the beach so we had beautiful views. The property was in amazing condition and very clean. The breakfast was excellent and had a large selection of offerings. Everything about this stay was excellent. "

"The quality and size of the “apartments” (they’re basically houses, it’s great) is phenomenal for the price. To have a private back deck, many air conditioners, a kitchen, a nice bathroom, FOUR sets of sliding doors.. it was great. Friendly cats run the grounds, par for the course in Europe. Parking is a little tight and it’s in a quaint area of the island but those very small “negatives” are so heavily outweighed by the friendliness of staff, 24 hour pool and big clean rooms that it’s barely worth mentioning. I’d recommend this place to anybody. My one real and only gripe is to access the property the first time it’s a hassle. It’s a private gate and everyone gets a remote, but when you’re first arriving you need to call. It’s not well labelled where you need to go either. Besides that it’s perfect. We will be returning."

"The property is large and spacious and we were comfortable there. It is a great location for all Sao Miguel has to offer. Nothing was further than an hour away. It was very clean. The washing machine and courtyard to dry clothes was brilliant, especially with a two year old. Unfortunately, there were a couple of things that let the property down. The kitchen was poorly equipped for example there were no cooking knives and we had to go out and buy our own cleaning spray to wipe down the kitchen and dining table after cooking. The hosts were quick to respond but not always very helpful, for example we asked about the knives saying we could only find steak knives and they just said that is all they had. There was no cot on arrival despite asking for it twice before arrival - this was very quickly solved though. Most annoyingly was about how much I was hassled about when we would arrive for check in as someone was to meet us in person. I gave a rough idea and explained that we would be picking up a rental car and stopping at the super market on the way, but I felt like I was told off when I was quite inaccurate. We’re somewhere new, with a 2 year old and I’m pregnant, so we don’t really know how long it’s going to take! If it’s a problem doing check ins, why not have a key box at the property? All the host did when we arrived was say this is the kitchen, this is the bedroom etc. The only benefit of seeing a person is that we could ask for the missing cot straight away"

"The house was specious clean and beautiful.The host Carlies was beyond amazing he was there to answer questions and provide tips and suggestions about attractions where to eat and what to do all the time. We truly appreciate all his help. Location was the best! I highly recommend this property and hope to come back and stay there "
