"Come for the beach and the food/drinks but don't expect a party atmosphere. It's a quiet property with 3 pools however everyone is either at the beach or at the primary pool. When we were there practically no one else was going in the pool which is fine if you prefer a quiet atmosphere. Lovely staff, lovelier kitties around the property which was excellently located. We were able to take the city bus from the port for $2.50 and it stops right in front of the hotel. Hop on Hop Off stops right...

"Breakfast was great, beds were great, balcony and check in. But, there are many steps, not that great for older people. Some steps were marked, but not everywhere, not consistent. Not safe in dark if you are not familiar. Different safety standards. Hard to get to by car, and not much parking is available. Friendly and helpfull staff."

"Courteous and friendly staff good professional kitchen staff, Within walking distance of sand and clean beach. Easy access to public transportation to Heraklion and Hernosios spa and resort. "

"The star of the show at the resort is the views over bay and the private pool. We stayed in a villa and had loads of space. The downside was to get to any other part of the resort we had to walk up a very steep hill - which gets tiring after a while. Foodwise, for an all inclusive the buffet offerings were good enough but not amazing. The place was very clean and overall staff were great but some facilities upgrades need to be made including replacing the poor lifts and the patio/balcony...

"We stayed at Candia Park for the last 3 nights of a delightful vacation in Crete where we sampled 4 different hotels. We had great expectations for Candia based on its appointment as a 4-star resort (and high cost) and the photos on Expedia. We were very disappointed and felt totally overcharged spending so much on a basic room with no amenities. The location is lovely and the grounds are nicely laid but the studio itself was outdated, extremely bare bones, and dark and musty with a patio...

"The property is more like a small village complex than a hotel, with pathways linking the apartments to the main areas, bar, pool etc. It is so tranquil, a really lovely place to stay. The beach is a few minutes away, but we mostly stayed around the hotel. The staff are all very friendly and multilingual. The food was excellent and I’d recommend the buffet breakfast, it really set me up for the day. "

"Property seems very kid friendly, which is nice, but as we did not bring our children this trip, it was loud and overwhelming with kids running all over. Often difficult to get spots at the pool as well. We almost decided to go next door to the Nana Princess instead. Food was pretty good. Facilities have plumbing issues given the smells in the bathroom. Was not pleasant. Good value but not luxury. Live and learn"
