"Booked this hotel as it was close to family we were visiting on a last minute trip. Ample parking on arrival and a very friendly helpful young gentleman at reception, he knew the answer to any questions we had and was so knowledgeable - a real credit to the hotel. We decided to have dinner in the restaurant even though we hadn’t booked and it was no problem at all, there was a small menu and only one vegetarian option but it was really lovely, one of the nicest meals I’ve had in a long time and a great price too. The room itself was very small for a double, any more than 1 night in it would have been a squeeze. The room was also a bit dated and in need of repair but clean enough and the bed was very comfortable, next time we will try and book a larger room so we have space for our bags. Breakfast was included which was a bonus, nothing fancy but it filled a hole, cereals or a full Scottish on offer. We will be back soon I am sure! "

"We were able to park up at 11am so we could go to the races very helpful with directions etc. Lovely hotel with beautiful gardens that we could see from our first floor windows. No lifts which now as we are getting older need to start checking out before booking. No the hotels fault but just a fact of life. Excellent breakfast."

"Great little hotel in the lovely village of Melrose. The food at the restaurant/pub was excellent and there was a cozy fire buring away. I booked a single accomodation and the room was on the smaller size but perfect for my needs."
