"Typical Japanese hotel, small but adequate. However, this hotel had the hardest bed I have experienced in Japan. Everything else was fine, but the bed.....ouch! Hotel was close to Hagorosan which we climbed the next day. Good restaraunts in the area, but the bed....... I asked the desk clerk (in Japanese) if all the beds were that hard as I rapped on the granite counter. Her response was yes, they were all the same, no matter the price of the room. In their defense, I did feel another bed...

"I really adored this place, and it was very conveniently located for day trips into Ginzan Onsen. The room was clean and affordable and in exchange for environmentally clean services we were given free beer or chuhai and breakfast vouchers. The hotel also has a nice public bath which worked wonders after a day walking in the cold. And honestly the chains sheep mascot was really cute; this place was just very charming for a place so far out in Japan. I will stay here the next chance I get."

"Staff was very polite, patient, and forgiving of course everyday travel frustrations and communication issues that can sometimes happen when traveling. This was a very welcomed facet to their services. Warranted a review. Thanks for welcoming me !"

"You have to understand the area you are in, and this is pretty rural Japan. So, for such an area this was a great hotel. Clean, helpful staff, very good breakfast included. And, hot bath area if that is your thing. Perfect location right by the station but super quiet. The beds are traditional Japan style so VERY firm. We enjoyed our stay!!"
