"This was a bit expensive for us, especially as it is a hostel and a bit out of town (20 min walk), but it was actually very nice indeed. The superb onsen was absolutely lovely with sea view, there was a nice reception, the shared lounge was enormous with amazing view and there was easy parking. We had a nice meal out at a friendly (recommended) local restaurant. Shiretoke is a truly beautiful nature reserve and well worth a visit. We were happy we stayed here."

"The indoor onsen was too small and the outdoor onsen water is too hot and the bathing facilities basic. But the food and service were excellent. We drove so it is not a problem but for those who don't, it will be inconvenient"

"Excellent location in the national park. Brilliant outdoor hot spring at the hotel, with some smaller ones off in the forest. Suggest going mid-week in the fall when there are fewer people. Arrange for your meals on advance with the hotel. Definitely go for the evening set meal, which is fantastic. (And they are happy to adjust for your diet.) If you are lucky, a fox will visit with you in the hotsprings. Excellent, helpful staff."

"扉はきしむし！鍵は潰れているし、虫やハエが出てくる。後、チェックアウトが10時だったので９時から支度を始めたが、スタッフさんが早く出て行って欲しそうに無言の圧力！挙げ句のはてに、わざとか分からないが、掃除しようと部屋に入ってこようとする。ちなみに掃除をしている若い男性の方は挨拶もしない。これで一泊素泊まり8300円は高過ぎる。次の日止まったライダーハウスは２泊したが4000円で、親切な上に部屋も綺麗で個室だった。もう２度とこのサイトを利用しないし、桂田も利用しない。"

"Stayed there on 1st of July during our 8days in Hokkaido, got a tatami room for 4 adults with buffet breakfast & dinner,room was clean and nice but very hot as it's located at a corner of 1 of the tower where the morning & afternoon sun shines brightly throughout. Very crowded hotel with lots of local tourist, front desk speak good English. "
