Tierra Viva Machu Picchu

3.5 star property
9.2 out of 10, Wonderful, (1003)
"We were met at the train station (look for the Tierra Viva sign) and our bags trollied the 5 minute walk to the hotel. The staff was professional and helpful. Our room was large overlooking the river. The bed and pillows comfortable. There is a water filter in the lobby for refills (no need to use plastic). First shower this trip with both hot water and great water pressure. It’s a 5 minute walk to the bus to Machu Pichu. We highly recommend this hotel for your stay in Aguas Caliente. "

Hotel Horizonte

3.0 star property
9.0 out of 10, Wonderful, (38)
"It was good. Well worth the price point. The showers are a bit cold but I've come to expect this in Peru. Just more of a heads up really. Good location. Kind of on the end of the busy which is nice. I love that all you can hear is the river at night. No barking dogs is a win for sure. I cannot say that for anywhere I've been in this country so far. Also...I still love it here. They just need to fix the dog situation like many places. "

"The front desk staff was very friendly and spoke English, as we do not speak Spanish. The check in process was quick and easy. The location was convenient, just a short walk to the bus stop for Machu Picchu and the local artisan market. Be aware, when looking at Google maps it shows that the train station is just a few steps away from the hotel, which is why I booked it. This is correct, however there is a tall fence blocking you from accessing the train station from immediately by the hotel....
