"Great spot overall. Banilda at the front desk went above and beyond. A rainstorm leaked through some of the walls and they shifted us to another room that was a definite upgrade. Rooms were clean and comfortable with a great deck. Would love to come back."

"Great location and excellent room. Very surprised to stay in an Ibis that had so much character. Breakfast was also very good and the breakfast room has glass floors that allow a view to the old city underground—very cool. Would stay again and highly recommend. "

"This is a modern property. We had a room with a panoramic view onto the lake. Breakfast buffet was good but disappointing selection of Portuguese cheeses. The hotel has recently added a restaurant - excellent. Very little English spoken. "

"Staying here was restful, and very peaceful. Perfect! We enjoyed the privacy of the location. The generous breakfast, and attention to details. It is centrally located to the area sights we wanted to see. It was lovely to have the vineyards to walk through, beautiful views of the river Douro. Definitely recommended!"

"The hotel was spotlessly clean and the room was nice, but perhaps a little dated. There was no shower cubicle but a shower attachment over the bath which was tricky to position and did not appear to be thermostatically controlled so the water temp varied. "We had a most delightful two day stay at the Casa do Santo. Our wonderful host, Maria was full of local and historical knowledge and made us feel very welcome. Many generations of her family have tended the winery upon which this beautiful boutique hotel is built. Our room was spacious and very comfortable with beautiful views of the vineyards. Everything was first rate. The breakfast was outstanding and the hotel offers tapas and their very own fine wine in the evening. The hotel is located in a charming little village on the side of the valley with stunning views. You can literally hike from your room through the village down the side of the valley through ancient terraces with vineyards and olive groves. The trails leads down to the Douro River and should not be missed. Our stay was truly magical. "
