"I came as a solo traveler. The stay was quite, safe, comfortable, and clean. I arrived and did not realize the proximity to nearby resturants, for someone without a car. The owners were very kind they made me a salad and sandwich for dinner that evening. There was a continental breakfast included. They even arranged trabsportation the next morning for me. I am extremely grateful for their hospitality and kindness. You can tell how much they care about their property and guests. I would highly...

"We had an excellent stay here for 3 nights in February. The room, indoor pool, and restaurant were excellent. In particular, the restaurant menu was extensive and reasonably priced, making the decision to eat at the resort easy. "

"Myself and my wife loved staying here it was a beautiful guest house very traditional. We were visiting family so found tbe guest house to be very convenient . If i had to moan about anything it would be the thin walls between the rooms we could here the couple in the next room very clearly which was a little annoying at times but usually only when we wanted to sleep. And again its a very small moan becuase they may of been loud people. The breakfast was great and Siri the cat kept us company...

"We had 2 rooms and they were both extremely clean and so picturesque. It was a rainy night and our room was a bit chilly but fortunately my son and his girlfriend in the other room prefer a cool room we used the extra blanket in their room and had a cozy sleep. The only less comfortable part was that there was only a single pillow per person and they were a bit small. The breakfast the next morning was amazing, with so much variety and homemade goodness."

"The property was gorgeous and well-appointed. Margarida was a very friendly hostess. The room was very large and very quiet. It looked out into a large yard that had beautiful gardens and pool area. Our breakfast was extensive and generous. A great stay for off the beaten path-very relaxing. In a very nice town."

"17th century building with a lot of character"

"Our arrival at the front door coincided with the manager walking out to switch on the central heating. No introductions were offered or made which left us feeling rather underwhelmed. Our room was exceptionally clean although a little tired and in need of some maintenance. The other house guests had booked through companies that specialise in walking tours and were provided with lunch packs each day. As we booked directly with the property, we were not aware of this service and it was not...

"Great place. Wonderfully decorated with robin’s egg blue trim, sturdy and functional furnishings. Just beautiful, the way the light streams in from the shuttered windows. Tranquil (albeit with country sounds like roosters). Peaceful. It is easy to walk into town, either along a hiking trail or along the highway, which has a sidewalk after a while. "Nous avons passé un très bon séjour dans un environnement propice aux vacances et à la détente. La maison est grande, les propriétaires très gentils et aux petits soins pour nous. Ils nous ont accueillis avec des fleurs, un panier de légumes, des oeufs, des citrons.... La maison est très bien équipée. Bref il n'y a plus qu'à poser ses valises. Nous reviendrons !"

Excellent stay in family home overlooking river

"We had an incredible stay here, highly recommend. Family home, staff are attentive and responsive and very helpful. Unbelievable views from the balcony overlooking the Douro river and the valley. Rooms are spacious and clean, bathroom was giant and parking behind a gated fence so very secure and safe. Great breakfast that comes included and nice lounge area to relax in over a glass of their welcome port. Overall, we loved our time and would absolutely be back."

"The staff at this property were outstanding. It was raining when we were there, but in good weather, the outside patios would have been lovely. It's a bit of a walk into town, but we were a group of four seniors and we managed fine. We took a cab back up to the property. After a long day of travelling, we loved the quietness that this property provided."
