The black sand beach is great for walking or riding horseback, but not swimable. ( the pool is popular) We loved sitting on our porch in the morning looking at the ocean hearing the birds. "As always a trip to Hawaii is amazing and during this, our second stay at HBR, we were very happy with our visit. Particularly amazing was the attentive, prompt and friendly cart service especially from Jaloni. He was a highlight and certainly Raffy and Wolf along with Ryan and the rest of the staff at Happy Talk made our visit so fun. We loved the views of Hanalei Bay and Bali High and our room was mostly comfortable. We could have used a few more towels more than just twice in our 2 week stay...
