Basic facilities but all working order. Clean and Good location for exploring Yuzawa area, if you are comfortable with Japanese style travel."

"Hotel is a bit dated but the services were excellent. Maybe that's why the traditional standard can be upkeep. Dinner was great too. Onsen is authentic although not hot enough. We loved the hotel overall. The area is a bit quiet and not much to see but was a great getaway spot. "

"I really enjoyed my stay at Kashiwaya Ryokan. Although it was long to get to without a car, it was worth the travel. The 2 days there didn’t feel like it was enough time. I will return again for sure. The room was comfortable, the private onsen were beautiful and amazing. The kaiseki served at dinner were delicious and perfectly balanced. "食事などはボリュームもありとても満足しています。 しかし 暖房器具が合わなくて苦労しました。 暖房を使うと喉が痛くなってしまい暖房を使わないまま寝たこと。 家族連れの子供が終始騒いでおり残念ながら夜も朝もうるさかったこと。 これはホテル側の問題ではないので難しいところです。 暖房器具は部屋に備え付けのものを使うと喉がやられてしまい咳き込んでしまいました。"
