Hotel Akureyri

3.0 star property
8.8 out of 10, Excellent, (188)
"This is a decently appointed albeit on the small side accommodation. We got stuck in Egilstaddir for a few hours with the closure of the Ring Road segment connecting to Akureyri. We pushed our Hotel Akureyri check in for a day thinking that we might have to spend another night in Egilstaddir. The hotel was very accommodating due to the circumstance. When the road opened back up, we rushed up the mountains and headed to Akureyri. We showed up after 7 PM and the owner (I believe it was) received...

"Great hotel. Staff are friendly. Northern lights wake-up call was a nice touch. Food at the restaurant is expensive but the meals are really good. Hótel Á

3.0 star property
9.4 out of 10, Exceptional, (217)
"We stayed here for 1 night. We reached a bit after dark and it was our first night in Iceland. The guy at the reception did not understand much English. It was very dark as there is no light pollution. It would have been helpful if he had come with us to show the room, as we had to cross a little bridge after parking our car and we were fumbling in the dark. It is not far from the parking, or the main building, but he just gave us the keys and pointed outside, rather than just take the 5...
