"My girlfriend and I loved our stay there. The breakfast was always adequate and the room was amazing, extremely spacious and comfortable with cable and streaming on both big screens. The kitchen was great too with a central range. We went kayaking and biking and the staff were super accommodating. I felt safe there, just keep in mind it is in the middle of placencia so if you don’t want to immerse yourself in the culture and the people of the strip go to a remote resort. I loved this characteristic of the resort but other people may differ. "

"Mariposa is located on the beautiful beach.The resort is very small and creates very cozy and private environment The resort is well maintained very close to local airport. They have little restaurant but we had rental car and explored local Placencia restaurants. The staff is very friendly. We booked treehouse but they have construction on the property grounds. The manager offered for us beachfront room that was quiet and far away from the construction site . We really appreciated the upgrade. We stayed in this resort for a second time and never been disappointed. Thank you all the staff and manger for awesome vocation. We will come back."

"This place is super new or super newly renovated. It seems to be one of the first of its kind in this particular town. There is a fence around the property, but we didn’t see any particular need for it, aside from making guests feel secure and a little more away from the local sounds and sights. The neighborhood seemed laid back and not touristy. The bar-restaurant is SO cute. The food was excellent. I had the steak. My friend had the conch ceviche. Both were excellent. I also had the enormous dessert in a tall glass. There was fruit and jello and whipped goodness and it was huge. Caroline, the lady who was working the bar and dining room, was easily the highlight of this restaurant experience. She was so much fun and easy to talk to. She said the place hasn’t been open long. It would be in the owner’s best interest to keep her happy; she was an absolute delight. This place was a fantastic last minute find. The rooms are SO clean and sparkling new feeling. We actually wondered if we were the first guests in that particular room (we didn’t ask). Go here! Stay here! Eat here too! "
