"Amazing hotel. I stayed in a traditional Japanese style room with tatami mats and futons to lay out for bedding. The room had a forest view overlooking some beautiful trees and I even spotted a baboon coming out of the forest one morning while relaxing. Traditional dinner and breakfast is included. Dinner was several courses of delicious Japanese delicacies. Sushi, hot pot, too much to list. Breakfast was no less. The staff was incredibly polite and helpful with everything I needed. "This is a lovely quiet hotel/ryokan. Beautiful large room with everything set up for onsen the Japanese bath, which was also delightful. The staff was very very sweet and helpful. We didn’t eat at the hotel; there are wonderful restaurants within walking distance. The hotel is a few hundred meters from the tourist area which is very quiet after 5 pm. Great place. "

"Lovely stay - as a first time visitor to Japan, it was great to have a night at some more traditional lodging. Iwaso was beautiful and the service excellent. The fixtures in the private bathroom in my room were somewhat dated but everything was very clean, and I really used the Onsen anyway - also, the historic/classic styling of the property was what I wanted. "Excellent place to stay, with the exception of the road and train tracks behind the building resulting in a fair bit of noise. There were ear plugs provided which helped a little bit, but the noise was still quite loud. Despite this, we still really enjoyed our stay and loved the unit!"

Fully stocked kitchen if you actually wanted to cook but we took advantage of the nearby restaurants. It was low season during our stay so not many restaurants open in the evening. No issues during daytime as more shops and restaurants opened to cater to tourists visiting the island as day-trip. Location is right in front of ferry terminal which was very convenient....
