"Very cold in pool area. There was cold air coming through the door or window that couldn’t close all the way. Very uncomfortable and too cold for me, so I did not swim, but my grandson touched it out."

"Overall a good property. Our room had a very musty smell in it. Like the room had been heavily smoked in. The water this morning wasn’t hot. It was warm enough but could have been better. Mattress was uncomfortable. Otherwise we liked the property and would stay there again. The staff were very friendly and welcoming. "

"We loved our stay at the Garrison hotel. The location cannot be beat! Loved the historic nature of the inn. Staff were pleasant and the made-to-order breakfast was a real bonus. Facility was clean. The Inn fell short of a five star rating for two reasons - one is an easier fix than the other. The bed in our room was uncomfortable the first night, but in subsequent nights, our backs, neck and shoulders began to ache and getting a decent sleep was elusive. "Visiting a hotel off season often shines a light on the features of a location that might otherwise be missed. In this case it was the people who were determined to see to it you enjoyed your stay. The restaurant staff was great, the rooms were well attended to, and the ocean views were spectacular! I want to extend a huge shout out to JERRY. Before we even arrived at the hotel Jerry helped us reserve the rooms that lookout at the beach. He greeted us warmly and knew our names when we arrived. He took our pictures in front of the Christmas tree and was always at the ready! The people who work at Ashworth By the Sea made the difference between a good time and a great time."

Definitely stay here!

"My Fiance had his transmission die 2 hours from home, with a pending snow storm on the way. We stayed here in an emergency situation, but was pleasantly surprised! This place was a breath of fresh air in an otherwise stressful time. Quiet, comfy, clean, and close to amenities. Even extra amenities with the kitchenette. We had no complaints and highly suggest staying here. Would love to return under better circumstances next time!"
