"I stayed with friends and chose the Lion in Shrewsbury for the history and authenticity of staying in an original listed hotel. Our rooms were decorated nicely although the curtains in one room were tired. It must take alot to maintain a large hotel like the Lion. Bathroom not modern but clean with lovely white towels and toiletries and hot shower. All the staff were lovely, breakfast really good. Nothing was too much trouble. Its definitely not a glitzy hotel but the originality of the building...

"Staff were excellent, very good customer service throughout our stay, so well done to them! Bed was a little on the small side, so I didnt sleep so well, as used to a king-size. My partner said the men's foyer toilets were the cleanest he had ever been in! Will stay again. "

"A great location at the center of Stafford. Our room was clean and well prepared. The staff were very helpfull and the pub made a welcome change from those soulless budget hotels. I'd definitely recommend this place to anyone Free parking was an added bonus but could do with a few electric car changing points "
