"Stayed the night while visiting friends for a birthday party. Lovely service from friendly people (they even helped me wrap up a birthday present for me! Room was convienient and clean. Sadly no food service available at the weekends, however a lovely pub \ resturant next door. My only pain point was having to pay for parking which I beleive was £8, seemed a little cheaky to me."

Someone was on reception when I arrived in the evening at c.8.30pm, contrary to what was said in the the note I received from Hotels.com prior (i.e. that reception closes at 7.30pm). There is plenty of free on-site parking, which was convenient. The building is beautiful, nicely maintained and the setting is quite special, in the countryside and beside the Derwent River.
