"Second stay at this Motel on our return from Auckland. Upgraded to a superior room with all facilities including spa bath. The room looked fairly recently redecorated and in first class condition. Excellent condition and cleanliness."

"Our room was decades past renovation date with wall paper dating from the 70’s. There was a line of dirt/dust on the floor around the walls and fittings where the vacuum cleaner hadn’t reached. The door handle with swiped card reader was loose as was the knob on the wardrobe and appeared to have been this way for years. The room smelt a little damp but the a/c was quiet and worked well. Bathroom was clean though mould around the shower and the silicone was leaking enough for a large puddle to...

"We LOVED our stay here and Andy was so kind and helpful. The room was comfortable with thoughtful touches like hot chocolate mix and milk in the fridge. Very clean too! The town of Matamata was delightful with great food options, and you can’t beat the proximity to Hobbiton. I wish we would have had one more day just to relax and would like to come back!"
