"Friendly staff in reception and restaurant, amazing facilities clean and little things that are considered eg bag for wet swimwear in pool. Only complaint is the electrical equipment in room is out of date for PAT testing( I'm a health and safety officer so notice these things) and the food in restaurant, mainly breakfast could be improved as it was cold... Might be better to let guests order as they come in than the buffer style"

"Went to the coast for our anniversary and decided to stay in this hotel. We are so happy we did! Service was really attentive and friendly and the staff even gave us some added extras to help us celebrate our occasion! The room was spacious, clean and modern. The hotel has a large beer garden which is nice for a drink. Breakfast the next day was oustanding. All items cooked as requested, to perfection and were of a high quality. Could not fault anything! Wonderful stay and would definitely go...

"I wonder if this was a coaching inn back in the day as it's on the way into the city, but it's just outside the walls and on the end of Stane St, the Roman connection to the world eastwards.So it's an old rambling inn with many rooms in nooks and crannies. Our room was adequate, a twin as I booked late.It has a massive dining room downstairs to feed everyone, which it does in some style. We tasted the bangers and mash, with local sausages. The problem came in the morning when I wanted to leave...

"The staff were very friendly and helpful. We had a family lunch for my Mums 93rd birthday and everyone was so helpful and obliging. The only downside for us was the street noise early in the morning. When we stay again we will be requesting a room at the back of the hotel. We struck lucky in that the group Hot Fuzz were playing on the Saturday night and they were excellent."

"We stayed here for two nights for a family wedding close by. The venue is beautiful. Decorated in a family style with a lovely room which was spacious enough. My children loved the Jacuzzi bath! The village is beautiful. If I had to think of a bad side, the cyclists did make some noise in the morning, but it wasn’t really intrusive. I’d stay here again!"
