"The hotel is one of the older ones but this adds to it charm in many areas. There is a lift to the upper floors. The gardens are beautiful and well kept. Offering a walk through to the sea front and shopping area. The room we had was small with a small shower cubicle with plenty of hot water, shower gel and body lotion by Dove. Everything was clean. "Lovely hotel. Right by the seafront. Close to everything. Went on the steam train to Dartmouth. Also went to Kents Cavern..via a voucher from the hotel. Both excellent. "

"There was a warm and friendly welcome. The room was very clean and so was the bathroom. Bed was comfortable. It is a budget hotel, obviously rather old with idiosyncratic shaped rooms and corridors. No lift so if you are on the upper floors and struggle with mobility not for you. The hotel has limited parking at £6.00 per day. Hotel is right on the seafront and only minutes from the town centre and shops. Lounges rather basic and sparse."

"Excellent location both for the many transport links and the stroll into town. The room was on the second floor so not convenient if mobility issues. .It was compact with low ceilings but comfortable, especially the bed. Poor plumbing. Unusual housekeeping for me as the bed was never made up nor the bath cleaned during my stay. Dinner in the restaurant was disappointing. Chicken supreme dish, the potatoes were nice, the meat was well cooked unfortunately the roasted carrots tasted rancid so...

"It's a good hotel and very quiet when I was there. Breakfast (waitress service) was excellent. My double room was a little small and the en suite very cramped but acceptable. Everywhere was well decorated and spotlessly clean."
