"Loved the grounds and the surroundings of the hall and was brilliant that we could bring our dog with us (£10 supplement). Comfy bed very warm and cosy bedroom. Very good value and tasty 3 course meal.... But a very cold bathroom with no heating facilities and no toiletries provided (no hand soap/shower gel). But overall a good hotel. Would stay again. "

"This is a lovely friendly pub with excellent staff. The locals were welcoming as well. The beer brewed on the premises was excellent as was the food. I can't fault our stay there. Plenty of parking at the pub now, with a new car park. Handy travel time to Critch, Matlock and the Peak District. Located on the side of a steep hill, so walking anywhere is a good bit of exercise!"

"Nice location for a quite evening. On arrival the member of staff was welcoming and showed us to our room. I was a little disappointed as i had called the day before to ask for an upgraded room (willing to pay) was told it was sorted but ended up with standard room. It was clean but small and dont think it was worth the £150 per/night. The food on the evening was very good with big portion and after the starters the main was a challange. Unfortunately the room we stayed in was right at the front off the hotel it did have modern double glazed windows but they were useless the traffic outside never stopped until after midnight and restarted around 4 am.I am quite a heavy sleeper but this had to be the worst night’s sleep I’ve experienced at a hotel, the bed looked lovely but we couldn’t turn over...
