"Very friendly check-in. The lady at reception was very nice and helpful with our questions being our first visit to Timaru. Walked to the lighthouse then to the penguins. Returned late at night and had an awesome sleep in a very comfortable warm bed. The room is not fancy but perfect for the price and you just need somewhere to sleep. "

"We had not planned to travel to Timaru, but needed the hospital services. This place was a last-minute booking that was perfect for us. Our family had been traveling in close quarters and this was great to have a little space to move around. Having a functional full kitchen, dining room, living room, and all the clear spaces for recycling and compost was very welcome. The person who checked us in was friendly and offered room options and a couple ideas of what to do in town. They were flexible...

"Very old decor. Old sheets. Hotel smelled of cooking oil. I bit more attention to cleaning would have been good, e.g. the exeplair duct in the bathroom was thick with grime. For this level of room I would have expected to pay $60 - $85, not $105."
