The rooms are a bit small but it is San Diego, and primarily I speak of the restroom dining room kitchenette area which is all of 2x2. My mom was with us on the trip trying to do business from her laptop and she was having a hard time with the Wi-Fi. "Beautiful historic property. Stayed in September, all rooms, interior, and exterior of the house were decked out for Halloween - everyone was walking around taking pictures. Food and wine was delicious. The grounds are gorgeous. A must stay on your trip up or down I-5."

"This was the cutest Motel I've ever stayed in. It was fixed up like Italy and the furniture was beautiful, the pictures were beautiful, and there was even a big tree painted in the bathroom. I sent my girls a picture that said, "I always wanted to go to Italy but never made it, so I am pretending that I'm there." I have already recommended it to several friends. The price was extremely reasonable also!"

"Our room was in the Lodge on the 2nd floor. Very tiny room right next to the kitchen exhaust. At 1:20 a.m. the fire alarm went off. It was attached to the ceiling so we could not turn it off. There was no one else in the lodge. We opened all the windows and turned on the fan in the room and it finally went out. I reported this to the management but we received no discount/compensation. We also ate dinner here; $45 each for a very small piece of sabelfish and grilled cabbage and small salad....

"We could not have imagined a more perfect place to unwind and celebrate our anniversary. The hosts are thoughtful and quick to respond and they also recommended places to eat! The cabin was clean and well stocked. The location was perfectly tucked away without being too far from stores or restaurants and the wildlife was abundant. We would absolutely stay again. What a treat. "
