"The hotel itself is an oasis. Surrounded by an ugly industrial area, it is self-enclosed and beautifully landscaped -- a nice, old-fashioned kind of place. It is walking distance to Old Town on one side and to eateries and places like Sees Candies on the other. It's a short drive to Balboa Park, the Zoo, and Sea World. There can be road and railroad noise, and we thought the soap dispensers weren't working very well."
