"It’s a good hotel location to get to Lake District, free large car park. Friendly greeting at reception on check-in. Should also mention handy EV charger (fast charger) for EV cars (which I used) just off main road. So not only can you recharge your battery but also the cars. "

"Has a one night stay. Breakfast comprised a voucher for the restaurant in the motorway service area. Good breakfast. The service area open for eveningrals etc. The hotel is OK as a stop-off and no real problems, although I was surprised to have to pay to park my car "

"Our stay here was lovely. We travelled up for a family funeral and was wanting somewere qyiet and peaceful to rest afterwards. The host was very polite and friendly the bed was super comfy and the breakfast was 10 out of 10. We will definateky be using this place when we come to see family from now on "

"The hotel were very helpful when requesting a slightly earlier check in due to attending a family wedding and needing to get a 3 year old ready to be a flower girl before hand. The staff were excellent and very friendly. The room was very spacious and the large bath was amazing! Breakfast was very expensive, especially for pastry's, orange juice etc but hit the spot."

"Old building with character in a good position on main road going into Carlisle from South with good parking. Very friendly and helpful staff and excellent value for money. Good sized room but not much furniture"

"We had an amazing anniversary stay at this beautiful, charming hotel. We were greeted by welcoming, friendly staff upon arrival, and check in was quick and easy. Our room was immaculate and impressively decorated. The bed was very comfortable, but the stand out feature was the tin bath - a real showstopper. I would highly recommend this hotel for a romantic night away."

"Excellent hotel and apartments, We stayed in the apartments on the hotel grounds this were to a very high standard with everything you needed. My daughter and myself enjoyed our stay in one of the 2 bedroom one's each room offering a super king size bed and ensuite, TV's in each room, comfortable lounge area and well equipped kitchen, the hotel bar and restaurant is only a short walk across the car park with a great choice of lunch and evening meals available. "Excellent room. I stayed one night on my way down South. My room was up in the attic with an on-suite. It was nicely heated, clean with a comfortable bed. The bathroom had good water pressure and was very clean. Breakfast was great. 👍 The location was very convenient, just a short walk to shops, restaurants, cafes and bars. Lovely cobblestone street and houses surrounding. Parking was just fine, I just parked in the street and upon checkin I was given a parking permit to put in the window. Last my host was lovely and likewise the staff at breakfast. "
