"Traditional Japanese hotel"

"Location is perfect. Just a few minutes walk from the station and chair lift. Kitchen staff is very thoughtful. I stayed for 3 nights, although all 3 nights were hot pot for dinner with the same ingredients, the soup base was different for every night. Staff are super friendly, making you feel welcome. The only issue I had was on the first night when there kids staying and they ran around the whole lodge making all sort of noise until late."

"Overall the hotel is clean and the room is spacious but one thing grates me with these hotel chains they ask a hiring price for a kettle (1000yn) other than that they offer coffee/tea facilities down in the foyer. Taking a cup of tea up a flight of stairs to the Mrs can be a bit of a chore for a four-score age person. Breakfast finished at 9am and my wife rolled up at 9.04am and promptly told "NO BREAKFAST" bit rich as most places have breakfast going till 10am and beside we were not informed of...

"二段ベットに子供達は喜んでいましたが、柵が甘いので抜け落ちてしまいそうで、怖かったので、寝るのは下の段にしました。二段ベットを楽しみにしていたので残念です。縦にも柵があると安心でした。 隣の部屋の声は丸聞こえです。 ですが、価格と相応だと思います。総合的には満足なのでまた伺いたいです"

"Be warned: this property is NOT in Minamiuonuma, or even very close to town. To avoid an absurd taxi fare, catch the local train to Shiozawa and arrange for the property owner to pick you up at the station. That aside, the property itself is very basic, but also charming. Owner is absolutely lovely. Location has outstanding views, and the back of the building directly faces a ski lift. As long as you're not expecting much from the place, it is more than sufficient for a quick stay."
