COVID guidelines for physical distancing and facemask wearing in place for shared areas within the resort. Only issue during our stay was temporarily poor internet service within the villa...

"A historic building on the outside, modernized on the inside, the guest house lies on the Salpa Line which was built to defend Finland during WWII. The Karelian flag flies proudly in the garden. The hosts arrange tours of the line and enthusiastically suggest walks and activities around Lappeenranta. The walk from the house to the lake Myllylampi was beautiful and alive with birds. Rooms are equipped with kitchen and dining areas."

"Room was unclean on arrival. Door required a special manoeuvre to unlock which was a real fire risk as the room windows don’t open. We reported both to reception, but were greeted by a shrug of the soldiers and some story about renewing the cleaning contract at the end of the season. Breakfast was cold meat and cheese with watered down orange juice and just the one toaster. Some staff were helpful but others weren’t. Whilst offering fishing, the staff didn’t know how to obtain the 2 Euro per day...

"A fantastic property and very well thought-through in set-up. The central living room & dining area was a great space for our family of 4 and the 2 adjoining bedrooms worked really well. The sauna is located in a separate suite which was great as it allowed us to maximise use of the adjoining outdoor terrace too. "
