"The only thing was that they keep the heater uncomfortably to high. It felt like a sauna. Other than that, everything went well . "

"The staff made the trip. The hotel is in the old geisha neighborhood but within walkable distance of the other attractions : castle, gardens, samurai houses and fish market. Nothing was too much trouble for Mitsu and he helped with restaurants and directions. Kanazawa was great."

"The owners of the ryokan were very accommodating, kind & helpful. The room is big & adequate. Excellent breakfast. The only minus is that there is limited transpo to the inn. And there are no stores or restaurants near the inn. So you need to eat dinner in another village or bring food home."

They then showed me around and proceeded to assist with carrying luggage up the stairs to my room, above and beyond customer service - as with everywhere in Japan. "First off this hotel has one of the worst check-in procedures I have experienced. the property is supposed to email you a pin number for door access, 48 hours before check in. even with multiple requests for the pin, I did not receive it until I had already been staying at the hotel for two nights. this left me locked out for over an hour the first evening. the property does have a contact number to call to get the pin; however, if you’re a foreign tourist using an esim or don’t have...
