"This hotel is conveniently located and offers free breakfast and parking. Breakfast hours end at 9 and I wish that the hours would be extended a bit, especially on weekends when people want to rest. The hotel was clean and comfortable. We did run into a small misunderstanding upon checking out…the sign on the back of the room door said checkout at 12 noon but we were told they are old signs and checkout is actually at 11 (as per room key sleeve cover). To be honest, the writing on sleeve...

"Very nice neighborhood, close to the zoo and metro. The staff is friendly and helpful, the room is acceptable. I did not like the extra $25/night for parking and the extra $15/night for microwave mini-fridge which makes the total cost per night $40 more, much less attractive than the ticket price. "

"This property is in a great location central to the hustle and bustle of Columbia. The issue I have with this property is that there are several people that live there that make the entire property their home. Not much you can do about it because they are in the common areas, but I did watch this dude‘s dog piss on the wall and that’s not something we want to see his dog because we are already limited as it is and that just makes it bad for everybody."

"This is a cool older hotel. It has some quirks, but lots of charm. One issue in the 7th floor bathroom: There's not a separate light from the noisy fan. It makes it difficult to listen to the TV news while you're getting ready in the morning. Small things. But the location is superb in downtown Washington. They also could use some complimentary coffee downstairs."

"We chose this hotel because it was so close to a metro station. Our room was very clean and the location and room were so quiet. It was nice getting a "breakfast" but it was a bagel and apple every morning; would have liked maybe a muffin or banana one day to change it up. Great Turkish cafe nearby for supper! Would stay there again!"

"We stayed in silver springs to go to dc. This was an easy walk to the metro, bus & am track station. The hotel was clean, staff was friendly & informative. Breakfast was also very good. Would definitely stay again. "
