Great location, tidy handsome room, with updated urbane decor. Three keys to a great room are 1-immaculate 2-excellent linens 3-a good bed. This hotel hits them all. As a coffee junky, can confirm that there are two excellent coffee houses nearby. One is a block down from the hotel on 14thNW (you can see it from the door!) and a Starbucks about two blocks West. Great dining all within walking distance (Via Sophia, in the same building, has great reviews, but we did not try it). Also within sight of the hotel is a dining club that I reckon morphs into a nightclub later on. It's busy, and everyone looks like they're having an excellent time. Maybe not for anyone who needs to go to bed by 9 (aka over 50), but hey, you never know.

As a professional musician, I was playing near the White House. The Hamilton was priced competitively while being within walking distance from that venue. I was pleasantly surprised at the size of the room and the cleanliness. I have been in 1-5 Star hotels around the world. Price, location, accommodations etc. I'd give it 5 stars. Are there more extravagant hotels? of course but this was very clean, nice and comfortable hotel with a reasonable price.

The parking was valet only which is fine except our vehicle was oversized and wouldn't fit in the parking garage. Although the website states that convenient parking is available for oversized vehicles, this was not offered to us by the valet. He simply told us we could park on the street and move it in the morning. 3 blocks later we park and my husband who is handicapped had to walk back to the hotel. We would like to have availed ourselves to a nice relaxing breakfast before continuing on our journey but there was no point as we had to have our vehicle moved by 7:00. When I asked where exactly was the convenient parking located as described on the website the next morning, I was advised of the 2 locations but that hotel staff were not allowed to give the information out as they would be held liable in case of any damage. ?????? He also stated that the height restriction for parking was on the website but I didn't see it. Most likely would not stay again.

The hotel is located two blocks from the Metro station which was nice, property was clean, it is an older hotel so the doors closing were heard in the hall. We did have a problem at check in. They did not have the suite that I booked and after 20-30 minutes they finally gave us a bigger suite and waived the roll away cot free. So it did work out. The girl that checked us in was very kind and professional.

The hotel was very nice but needs a refresh. First room safe didn't work, thermostat broken - freezing first night. Second room very nice but water pipe broke and flooded bathroom. Third room much better but room service forgot coffee most days. To be fair the hotel refunded us the taxes due and a free breakfast. Staff were great at getting us moved but preferred if we didn't have the problems. Hotel is in a good location for sites but dining in the area is very sparse. Due to Washington DC being a working city the prices seem to reflect expense account pricing. Even the airport was cheaper for beer and wine!!!
