"We arrived on a Sunday evening and most shops had closed. The hotel is a bit out of town. The room was adequate, but the steps up to the mezzanine bedroom were very steep. The beds were comfortable. "We have stayed here before and will Do again. Although it’s a youth hostel - nobody feels unwelcome. The staff are very friendly and helpful. It is situate a very short walk from Charleroi central train and bus station. There are lifts to all floors and everybody is catered for here. Breakfast is included in the price and there is plenty to fill yourself up. No cooked food other than boiled eggs - but they’re were lovely. "A comfortable hotel, but Hotels.com needs to make it clearer that this is one of those European hotels without staff, where one needs codes to enter the building and room. Unfortunately, the hotel never sent me the codes, and I stood outside the door for a good ten minutes before a kind passerby helped me by calling the hotel for me to ge the codes (my US phone doesn't work in Europe). Aside from that pretty major mistake, the room was fine."

"Difficult to understand how people have left 5 star reviews for this property. The view out the window is nice but sadly the moment you turn around you see a shabby room which doesn’t seem particularly clean. The owner was friendly but in truth I couldn’t recommend this hotel to anyone."
