"Last time I stayed up London way we were an hour out of the city so this time I wanted somewhere much more central and gave myself £200 budget for four nights for me and my lad. Was it possible? Found this place for just over budget. Read some really bad stuff but chanced it. Room was small but cosy, comfortable bed with clean bedding, heater was on the whole time which was a relief as it was 3 degrees out, shower was lovely and hot too. The only real negative was the TV not working. Reception...

"The vibe was great! Lots of people from all over the world, cool bar, many events. The place was super clean and modern. Rooms and amenities were comfortable and felt safe. "The Star Hotel was in a charming building. It's clearly older than you might find, say, in the US, but was clean and maintained. It was a bit of a walk to/from the Hammersmith station after a long travel days, but not terrible. The beds were OK. Bathroom was lovely. It was a bargain for two adults and two teens in our group. Protip- there's a Tesco just behind the wonderful bakery across the street. Stock up on your snacks and waters there."

"This is the cleanest hostel I have ever been in. They are cleaning night and day. The 24-hour reception is a real plus and will take packages for you and accommodate most requests. The adjacent Brazilian restaurant is great for when you need a hot meal without going out in the cold. Unfortunately they don't have a coffee machine, but there is a cafe whose hours in the off-season are erratic. Super polite and helpful staff always. The bus and subway are 30 metres away. Closest shop about 200...

"I stayed at your hostel for seven nights, and it was a very enjoyable experience. The staff were cooperative, so many attractions were convenient and close to the hostel, and everything overall was good. The hotel was clean and well-maintained. The only issue I encountered was that guests have to inform the staff for bed sheet changes and similar services, which could be improved. Other than that, everything was fine.
