"Grateful to the Greystoke for stepping in at the last minute after a previous booking elsewhere was cancelled. A quiet location but close enough for walking into the town. No problems booking in or during the 3 days stay. Beware of the big breakfasts - you may not want to move afterwards - but they set you up nicely for the day of exploring the area. A great view from the street on a crisp sunny day."

"What an amazing hostel! Perfect location and lovely building, The panelled lounge full of lovely leather sofas, books and a roaring fire was particularly fine. Staff were friendly and accommodating, the beer was good and the full english veggie breakfast the ideal precursor to some stiff walking. "

"I stayed Monday to Friday as I was working in Whitehaven. Kitchen had everything I needed, bed was comfy, nice reclining sofasvand good wifi. House was well located, took a stroll to the castle in the evening and the co-op supermarket v. close, quite big and with a good selection."

"The location was lovely and peaceful. My room overlooked the garden where the many and varied birds and red squirrels came to feed. The room itself was exceptionally clean and nicely decorated, with a decent sized en suite bathroom. Very comfortable. Corrine provided a kind welcome and delicious breakfasts, served in a spacious and clean conservatory.
