"The staff was great. Rooms are very basic but sufficient. The hotel is located close to the downtown area. The neighborhood is safe but looks dumpy and is noisy. Ear plugs help. There are lots of homeless. Overall, this hotel is a good value. There is a lot of food options. Again, the neighborhood will look scary but its actually very safe."

"Check in is a 3pm and I got there waaay before that but Jorge (the front desk person) had the room ready in like an hour so I can check in. I traveled by myself and this place was enough for me, just what I needed. Affordable and just a few minutes walk from restaurants, park, market and bars. The room had a fridge a microwave, a sink and TV. Only thing it didn’t have was a coffee machine, I drink a lot of coffee but it really wasn’t a big deal, its Costa Rica you find coffee everywhere;) also...

"It was so horrible very small ugly old fashioned and with staircase that I couldn't stay because i have problem with walking and problem with my back. "La habitación tenía varias cucarachas grandes, pedimos que por favor las sacaran y echaran algún tipo de insecticida, luego de esperar varios minutos porque supuestamente estaban limpiando, entramos a la habitación y ahí estaban las cucarachas vivitas y en las mismas esquinas, tuvimos que matarlas y sacarlas nosotros mismos. Eran demasiadas, grandes y pequeñas. En adición, el hotel no cuenta con estacionamiento, el carro se tiene que dejar en el borde de la carretera. "

The landscaping is magical and offers multiple hidden seating areas. The vi we w across the valley is simply spectacular. "Really good place to stay if you want to be right in the middle of the city where the locals are. Even with the hustle and bustle of the area really quite hotel. I stayed in the hostel which is good for 1 or 2 nights. Was also allowed to check in early. Museums are really close to the hotel. As well as el mercado central. "

I broke my phone during my trip and the lady that runs it went out of her way to help me order a taxi ride on a local ride app with her phone to make sure I got the airport safely to get home. She didn’t speak English but that didn’t stop her being a great person and helping me out. Showers could use more warmer water but overall not issues "

"Really good option, at walking distance to the city center. Staff is great and welcoming, and the place is a great place to start or finish (or both) a trip to Costa Rica. The place has a 'good-hostel-vibe', has an associated parking garage nearby (at a cost) and it is safe and quiet. Rooms are spacious and clean. Just be aware that restrooms are shared - which were not specified when we first made the reservation. "
